NFC Passport & ID Verification
Verify the chip.
Trust the document.
Inspekt.ID reads the chip embedded in a passport or ID card and confirms it hasn't been altered — or cloned. Everything happens on your iPhone — no server ever sees the document unless you choose to export it. Export a signed, verifiable record to share, or import one you've received to check it on your own device.
How It Works
Two steps, entirely on-device.
01 / UNLOCK
Scan or enter your key
Scan the Machine Readable Zone with your camera, or type in the document's Card Access Number by hand.
02 / READ
Tap to verify
Hold your iPhone near the document. Inspekt.ID talks to the chip over NFC and checks its signature on the spot.
What It Checks
Everything a border chip reader checks — in your pocket.
Documents
Passports and electronic ID cards issued to the ICAO 9303 standard.
Unlock Method
Camera MRZ scan or manual CAN entry — your choice.
Passive Authentication
Confirms the chip's data matches its digital signature, unaltered since issue.
Chip Authentication
Where supported, confirms the chip itself is genuine — not a clone.
Scan History
Saved to your device, protected by iOS encryption, exportable, importable, or deletable anytime.
Export & Import
Export a scan as a signed, verifiable record — or import one you've received to verify it on your own device.
Processing
100% on-device. No document data is ever sent to a server.
Privacy
Processed on your device — not on ours.
Every scan — the camera image, the MRZ, the chip data — is processed locally on your iPhone. Inspekt.ID never uploads a document to a server, and we never see it. You're always in control: export a scan as a signed, verifiable record to save or share it, import one you've received to verify it yourself, and delete your history at any time. We collect only anonymous usage analytics, like document type and scan duration, to keep the app reliable.
